Maxi Mover | know film

Maxi Mover | know film

Another project with the amazing team over at know film! For this project we utilized both traditional drones and FPV drones.

Indoor drone filming allows filmmakers to explore unique perspectives and angles that would be challenging or impossible to achieve with traditional camera setups. Drones can effortlessly weave through tight spaces creating dynamic shots in the process. Setting up and tearing down elaborate equipment can be time-consuming, especially when shooting in confined spaces. Drones can be deployed quickly, saving valuable time during production. Their ability to capture multiple angles in a single take reduces the need for extensive reshooting, streamlining the filmmaking process and eliminating the need for large camera jibs and cranes.

FPV

FPV drone footage has the ability to fly complex and intricate flight patterns. This creative freedom enables filmmakers to experiment with unconventional angles and narratives. Check out this one-take drone shot we created for Maxi Mover, this footage was then added in snippets to the main video.

DJI Mavic 3 Pro | Meet the fleet

DJI Mavic 3 Pro | Meet the fleet

The DJI Mavic 3 Pro is a game-changer in the world of aerial photography and videography, offering a range of camera options to suit diverse creative needs from one drone. In this blog post, we will explore and compare the key features of the three cameras available for the Mavic 3 Pro: the Hasselblad camera, the Medium Tele camera, and the Tele camera. By understanding the capabilities of each camera, you can see how this drone can benefit your production needs.

Hasselblad Camera

The Hasselblad camera, equipped with a 4/3 CMOS sensor, is the flagship camera option for the Mavic 3 Pro. With a 24mm equivalent focal length and a variable aperture of f/2.8 to f/11, it offers versatility in different lighting conditions. The 20 MP resolution ensures detailed stills and impressive 5.1k 10-bit D-log video recordings. With a native dynamic range of up to 12.8 stops, this camera delivers unforgettable image details.

Medium Tele Camera:

The Medium Tele camera features a 1/1.3" CMOS sensor and offers a 70mm equivalent focal length. With a fixed aperture of f/2.8 and a resolution of 48 MP for photos and 4k 10-bit D-Log M videos, it brings depth and focus compression to highlight subjects and create visually striking compositions. The 3x optical zoom enhances creative possibilities by being able to capture distant subjects with precision.

Tele Camera

The Tele camera, equipped with a 1/2" CMOS sensor, is designed for long-range capture. With a 166mm equivalent focal length, a fixed aperture of f/3.4, and a resolution of 12 MP, this camera option delivers high-quality 4K/60fps videos and detailed photos. The 7x optical zoom provides versatility in framing shots, allowing users to immerse themselves in rich image details. The wider aperture of f/3.4 enables better performance in low-light conditions compared to the Mavic 3, ensuring exceptional results even when capturing subjects at a distance.

The DJI Mavic 3 Pro offers three remarkable camera options to cater to different photography and videography needs. The Hasselblad camera excels in image quality, color accuracy, and dynamic range, providing professional creators with exceptional results. The Medium Tele camera compresses depth of field, highlighting subjects and creating visually captivating compositions. The Tele camera offers long-range capabilities, allowing users to capture distant subjects with high resolution and excellent zoom capabilities. Each camera option brings unique features and advantages to the Mavic 3 Pro, ensuring that creativity can be captured to its full potential and from new perspectives.

Harvest 2022

Harvest 2022

We cant resist having a fly about when we spot a combine in harvest.

Some shots from our DJI Mavic 3, testing out the ‘explore’ lens with a few FPV shots. This was shot last year during the peak of harvest, shot with full automatic settings.

The last harvest in this field for this farmer, he asked us to take a couple of pictures and videos for their records. One of my favorite testimonials comes from this shoot…

“By f*** he can fly that drone!”

New FPV drone! DJI Avata

New FPV drone! DJI Avata

Here's a look at Frankenstein's Avata, our modified DJI Avata smart FPV drone with a duel camera set up. All the bells and whistles of a smart FPV drone with GoPro camera quality and ReelSteady stabilisation.

Super impressed with what DJI managed to do with this system, however the GoPro image quality is just better (in my opinion)… so why not both? Our Avata can record both through the DJI camera boasting 4K 50p at 150mbs as well as our naked GoPro Hero 8 (soon to be upgraded).

JOE JENKINS | #TeamSeas

One of our highligts from 2021!

It was great to work alongside youtube sensation Joe Jenkins for his video with #TeamSeas. Providing FPV footage for his nautical themed video.

High winds, choppy waters, take off and landing on a moving vessel. Although the shoot had its challenges we are pleased with the results. Huge thanks to City Cruises for letting us race around their boat!

Commuter Films | University of Lincoln | Accommodation at Lincoln

One of the first shoots of the year this year was with our friends over at Commuter Films! For this project we were tasked with shooting a range of accomdation sites at the University of Lincoln.

Shooting at sunrise is always worth getting up for when you get light like this. Using our DJI Mavic 3 CINE capturing low light scenes in stunning 5.1K is no problem. Using the 10-bit D-Log color profile gives huge felxibilty in post production allowing the drone shots to fit seamlessly into any project.

FPV One-Shot | Gridline Racing Lincoln

FPV One-Shot | Gridline Racing Lincoln

The home of indoor karting in Lincolnshire…

This project was alot of fun to work on with the team over at Gridline Racing. The aim of the project was to showcase the space in a single take from entering the building to having a lap around the track!

To do this we used the smallest of our FPV drones, although small it carries a stripped GoPro 8, capable of capturing high quality footage whilst still being lightweight.

The process of these one-shots, involves an on site risk assessment, range test with the FPV drones, practice flights and then the final takes.

Our FPV service is becoming increasingly popular as a unique way to showcase certain spaces, if you are interested or have any questions about the process just give us a call or send over an email.

Wallbreaker | Duncan & Toplis | Gosberton House

Working alongside our friends over at Wallbreaker again for to capture aerials for another testimonial video for their client Ducan & Toplis.

We used a combination of aerial and gimbal footage on this shoot due to the limited amount of space on-site, utilizing our smaller aircraft and handheld stabiliser.

Wallbreaker | Duncan & Toplis | Revesby Estate

Last summer we worked with Wallbreaker Productions on a variety of projects. For this shoot were tasked with providing dynamic shots at Revesby Estate for a series of case studies they produced for Duncan & Toplis.

For this shoot we used the Inspire 2, due to the portability and lightweight frame of the Inspire, it meant we could travel across the estate to multiple locations to capture footage for the project in the narrow time window we had on the day.

Last summer we worked with Wallbreaker Productions on a variety of projects. For this shoot were tasked with providing dynamic shots of the International Bomber Command Centre in Lincoln for a series of case studies they produced for Duncan & Toplis.

For this shoot we primarily used the Inspire 2 as we could switch out lenses for a variety of shots. As the site started to get a little busier we switched to the Mavic 2, this drone is a lot quieter and less intrusive which was ideal for such a sensitive area.

Know Media | Louth Volks World Promo

Another fantastic (but cold) day shooting with KNOW MEDIA. This was a promotional project for Louth Volks World part of which was shot at the local Blyton Park!

Our brief was to provide eye catching dynamic camera movements at the track. Utilising our most powerful drone the DJI Inspire 2 we were able to track the cars no problem.

More track footage will be released at a later date... watch this space.
